I'm not a new mom, just new to MDC! I remember when Mothering Mag was an 'underground' journal...and we borrowed Volumes #1 and #2 from our wonderful midwife Cheryl Cavallo in Reno, Nevada in 1980!
Since then my kids are grown (well, almost) now 23, 19, and 17 respectively.
Circumcision was a 'new' issue, homebirth not even discussed (heh, like it was such a 'new idea'...both my parents were born at home here in the USA) -- and breastfeeding was best discussed with the LLL, according to my nursing school (actually, it was great advice!)
I learned to keep my opinions to myself during the past 25 years as a surgical RN.
I've been following the forum here with much interest.
I am very glad to see very active single parenting groups represented. I've been single now for 8 years...but that's just one part of who we are anyway, right?
--anyway, hello out there!
