Not allowed to give birth in pool :-( - Page 2

I laboured in the water and the ctx felt like mild period cramps as soon as I got in as opposed to OUCH OUCH OUCH before I got in. Eventually they got bad again so I got out with the intention of getting back in for better relief (like how your music doesn't seem loud enough anymore so you turn it down for a minute and turn it back up and it seems louder, that was literally my thought process) but little did I know I was in transition. While out I hhad the urge to push (so I did), tell them I felt "pushy" and without another word I got off the bed and back into the water. I didn't plan to birth in the water but at the time I just knew I needed to birth in the water. No one could've made me birth out of the water unless they physically restrained me (thankfully my mw doesn't care and let's me follow my instincts).

I would discuss it with them. If it's still a no-go, find a private mw not associated with a hospital or be prepared to refuse to get out. That said, you may not even want to birth in the water. I didn't plan to, but my desire changed at the moment of pushing.

1) assume desired pose
2) firmly grasp edge of tub with one hand
3) extend other hand, palm up, fingers curled towards you
4) uncurl longest finger and hold upright
5) push as desired until child emerges

Advice to live by, I say.
I totally love this! Mind if I repost it? :

So well said!
