Raw dairy sources or advice for Alaskans?

Hi everyone. I am 6 months pregnant with my first child and live in a small town in Alaska. We don't own a home and even if we did I don't think it's legal to own a goat or cow in our town. We have two grocery stores - one large and poorly managed conventional store and one small and limited natural foods store. They do stock some raw milk cheese for about $16/lb, but no raw milk. Any advice on affordable sources of delivered raw dairy? Thanks! ~Tina Kelly

I am not in alaska but I am just a tad to the south! I am on Vancouver Island in BC. I would guess that your best bet is to start asking, I am not sure what your town is like or how small it is? Mine is pretty small and it has some rural areas to the outskirts which have some small farms. I actually posted an add on my local freecycle, looking for raw milk... Long shot since it IS illegal to sell here but I got a couple of replies sending me in the right direction.

If it is available in your area... chances are it is underground so you may have to have a look underground!

Pretty cute when I went to get mine today... she looked me in the eye with a big grin and raised eyebrows...'for your pets right?' haha.

Ask at the healthfood store and go from there... if there are a few farms, one of them must!

Good luck!!!!!
