Since it's minus 40 here right now and I am hoping to get chickens next year, I would love to hear what you've done to keep your laying hens warm in such frigid temperatures - thanks!

-40! Holy cats!

We are thinking about getting chickens in the spring and I wondered about this, too. Michigan is cold, but not that cold!

We just finished insulating our coop. We are hopng that good insulation, and a heat lamp to keep the water from freezing will keep it warm enough in there for them this winter. It's our first winter with them, too.
