Hi, I'm Jessica. This is my second pregnancy. So far, we are UP-ing; I've decided at least into the second trimester. I'd like to postpone care into the middle of the pregnancy, like about 20 wks or so.
We are feeling out our way through this, and will probably have midwife care for the prenatals, but my partner and I are tossing around the idea of UC. We're about 50/50 on homebirth with midwife/UC. We haven't committed either way, but we're going to let it develop naturally however the birth comes down.
I feel pretty confident about my body's ability to birth. I won't get into my first birth story, but it was great! I intuitively labored at home with family, then left for the hospital pushing--was there less than thirty minutes. The worst part of the whole thing was the short time I spent in the hospital
So I want to avoid the hossy at all costs (barring an emergency for the babe's sake, of course). I didn't really know I had other options with my first pregnancy, so this time, I'm weighing everything much more carefully before deciding.
I just wanted to introduce myself and officially de-lurk.
I'm here looking for support/inspiration for our possibly unattended homebirth toward the end of July.
