looking for necklace for dd

my dd loves my necklaces and i really wanted to get her one. problem is i can't find anything i like. when i do a search for "children's jewelry" i just find lots of silver and gold personalized necklaces. not really what i had in mind. i tried etsy, but there were just so many to sift through. any suggestions?

Do you want a dress up necklace or a real necklace? I got my DD (14 mo) some play jewelry (necklaces) at Claire's at the mall. They have a ton of stuff, it's cheap, and fun colors.

How about making your own bead necklace? Or you could buy her a bead kit so she could do it herself.

DD has a little necklace and bracelet from Cost Plus World Market. They are made with wooden beads. Haba also makes some cute jewelry.

thanks for all the suggestions mamas! i knew you'd have some ideas. ended up going with a haba necklace (and matching bracelet). didn't even realize haba made jewelry (thanks libby). it's cute, but not too fancy (or pricey). perfect! i'm thinking when she's a bit older i'll get her something nicer or something she can make herself.
