Posture and BF positions

It seems like everything I read emphacizes good posture while breastfeeding, Ie, you are supposed to be sitting up straight and bring baby to you not boob to baby. Fine, I can accomplish that....but to do it all the time would be so tiring. Even with the Brest Friend pillow, I find myself hunched over a lot of the time to BF my little 8 week old. I am relatively thin, so I don't have a belly to boost things up, so to speak....

So the result is I spend a lot of time hunched over, and essentially bringing breast to baby. Otherwise I would have to support all her weight and that gets tiring. What am I doing wrong? Is there a better way?

Make sure you elevate your feet, that helps a lot. Get a nursing stool if you don't have an ottoman. HTH.

I have noticed that as well (my little guy is just 7weeks old). I am fairly tall and skinny, the boppy helps a bit, but it actually feels best for my back on a regular chair with my feet crossed or sitting on the floor crossed legged.

I would like to suggest this alternate take on breastfeeding posture! I just went to a Biological Nurturing seminar.. it was wonderful- Reclining backwards while fully supported in pillows is a lovely way to nurse your baby and probobly assists the milk letdown- another wonderful position is the side lying position.

If you can't get your infant to latch on in the laid back position, then latch them sitting up and then recline once they are latched
