talk to me about coconut spread

So I want to make the Coconut-date energy balls from Full Moon Feast, because I do find that I need some type of snack at about 4 pm everyday, and I am sick and tired of eating bread then (quick breads have been my specialty, but I'm tired of eating bread!).

It calls for coconut spread, not coconut oil. I found it on the Wilderness Family Naturals website, and it's $8.75 for 16 oz. I only need 1/4 c. for this recipe. We're moving in 8 weeks, halfway across the country.

So will this coconut spread "keep"? Or does it need refrigeration?

Or does anyone have an alternative recipe that is along the same guidelines? (mix date paste, coconut spread, a bit of coconut oil, shredded coconut, roll into balls)??? It sounds like the coconut spread almost replaces peanut butter, which I suppose I could use, but don't want it getting all melty, and right now I have a serious aversion to peanut butter (I go through phases!)

It definitely keeps. I have had the same bottle for a year or so now, it is still fine.
