is it possible to get 18 month old to sleep in his own bed at this time?

i love him being near me, but he is a pretty restless sleeper, and whenever he touches myself or dh, he wakes up and needs to nurse to sleep again. my dh has moved into the guestbed because of this, and we would both like to sleep together again.

maybe i should also be posting in breastfeeding because we still nurse to sleep and throughout the night-probably even a bigger issue!!!

*sigh*

no words of advice...i have have an 18 month old who does the same thing. I feel your pain. We put a toddler bed next to our bed and sometimes we get lucky and he sleeps there for a while :-)

thats a great idea. we had thought about that, but i just thought he was too young for a toddler bed-now that seems silly to me i would be worried it was too small for my lo as he almost takes up a queen size all by himself now!!

i also just heard of a study that showed that babies and young kids who have bad sleeping habits at a young age do so in their older years??? i worry about him not being able to comfort himself and needing the nursing...

DD still needed a lot of us at 18 months and at 4 1/2 she can go to sleep on her own and sleeps through the night 360 nights a year....so fear not!

I'd suggest a Twin or Full on the floor in his room, nurse him to sleep then move up into the bed with your DH....maybe without the touching/movement he'll sleep longer?
