I hope I'm posting in the right place. I've been given some water kefir grains and made up the first batch and had lots of success but my subsequent two batches have turned out very thick, viscous and mucousy. I'm putting water/sugar with grains for 48 hours...today I took it out a bit sooner...same problem. First batch this worked fine. What is going on!?
