I posted in the Trible area ... but I have not gotten much responce.

We are from MO -- living in Iowa right now -- we are going to be back in MO in the next few years, 2010 or 2013 or ... i am not sure -- depends on a lot of stuff.

Anyway -- here in Iowa Theo will have to be accounted to the state for in 2011 at 6 for Kindergarden.

I am trying to get a handle on the laws in MO .. we know we will be homeschooling both boys till 3rd at teh "youngest" and Charles will not in 3rd till 2016 .. we WILl be home by then (stomp foot )

I looked it up on HSLDA

http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Missouri.pdf

but I am not sure i understand.

so in MO I do not have to report a child to the schools till 7 ... (first grade i assume, or does it matter what grade)

and you have to MAINTAIN records of what you do and how the child does -- but you do not have to submit the records?

I'd love to talk to anyone homeschooling in SWMO.

I'm in Missouri. You don't have to report to anyone, ever. You are supposed to keep a log and some records, but no one can legally ask you to show them or submit them. Easy...

It is really easy. Just log/journal what you do and you will be fine. The upside to journalling the kids can see what they did later. Also if you want to repeat somethign you can remember what you did the first time.
