Forenote: ep'ed for dd1 and I had thrush but didn't know it for awhile.
So lo has a small white patch on one cheek that scrapes off easily. I have no major pain while nursing and no regular or frequent pain when not nursing. Sometimes slight pain when lo latches (but I also have possible nerve damage from dd1 and messed up pumping). The pain usually goes away. Aereolas are sometimes itchy but I though this was more from maybe dries saliva? They do have the appearance of having tiny bumps or blisters on them but they aren't really blisters from what I can tell.
Once I saw the white patch I started gentian violet twice a day. Started last thursday. White patch was still there yesterday. lo doesn't seem to have pain nursing, patch comes away easy, no white tongue, no redness in other parts of mouth.
Can it still be thrush? I want to know because if patch is still there after I finish the gentian violet course (palnning on stopping tomorrow), what do I do?
And no antibiotics or anything like that. We both had pink eye last week but doc treated it with homeopathy. We started treatment for that the day before I discovered the white patch.
