Could this be good?

I'm making beef enchiladas tonight for dinner and I wanted to put some kind of sauce on the top, but I don't like enchilada sauce. I was thinking of melting cream cheese and shredded Monterey Jack together and throwing in some diced green chiles, and thinning with some milk. Yea or nay? Something else to add to it? I'm trying to make something that resembles the cheese sauce they use at this Mexican restaurant in town... I'm a horrible "on the fly" cook and cannot for the life of me come up with good recipes off the top of my head so am looking for some reassurance or direction!

Sure! I have made creamy echiladas before that called for cream of chicken or mushroom soup. They come out really yummy. I bet the cream cheese will work too.

I'm not a big fan of enchilada sauce either. Although green is better than red enchilada sauce.
