Alternative to cows milk

I posted this in Breastfeeding but am not getting hardly any responses.
I know today most go from bm or formula to cows milk. I'm looking for other ideas....

Need advice mama's.....

DD (15mo) is with my parents 3 days a week when I work, she currently takes two 4oz bottles with them, one before morning nap and one before what used to be an afternoon nap.
I have to pump two times while away to try to get 8 oz, I've been struggling for a few weeks to get that much pumping anymore. We nurse the rest of the week when we're together. She is really good with solids, loves to eat.
I want to relieve some pressure on myself to HAVE to get 8oz when I pump. Yesterday I left 6oz with my mom, she got 4oz the first bottle and went down for nap. Later she got the remaining 2oz and cried when the bottle was gone. She wanted more but there wasn't any.
I'm not ready to give her cow's milk as a drink yet, what can I give her to supplement the breastmilk? And should she start taking it out of a cup vs a bottle?
I intend to keep supplying her with the 4oz bm before naptime, and we have no plans of weaning anytime....help, what's the best thing to give her?!?!

By around 12 months or so with DS1 when I left him I just left him w/ a sippy w/ water in it. If your DD's eating any solids at all its OK to give her water too. I only had to pump 2x a week for DS1 (to take/teach tae kwon do), but I was *SO* relieved when I didn't have to do so anymore. I *hated* pumping - honestly, its the hate of pumping that largely keeps me from leaving my DC much when their little...

I agree about pumping....I will not miss my pump at all when the day comes I can finally put it away.
DD does have a sippy cup of water available all day. But she takes the bottles with my mom prob as a comfort thing, similar to nursing. I'm not trying to break her of that yet, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm comfortable giving her if I can only supply 1 bottle of bm.....

Well..... can you tell us a bit more about your reluctance to do cow's milk?

What about goat's milk?

what about whole fat organic plain flavored kefir? She should take the kefir out of a cup... she might like the thick consistency. At least my toddler did and surprisingly likes the tart taste of kefir.
