How to Help Heal a Huge Bruise on Forehead??

Today while I was at work, my 20 month old ran into the doorway with such force that he imprinted the frame molding into his forehead. His sitter watched for signs of a concussion (thankfully none) and applied ice for about a half hour. She gave him .8 oz baby pain reliever. It's now a large purple swollen knot (soft to the touch) on the front of his forehead. Any great suggestions for how to treat it to help it heal quickly and thoroughly? It's too bad this happened right before he will get to see all his relatives for the holidays, many of which don't see him all year. At least he didn't break anything!

Whenever we get a big bump we use THE Arnica RUB, it works great to reduce swelling and take the red out.

Okay, Arnica it is!

I rushed over to the nearest health food store and picked up a tube or Arnicare Arnica Cream. It isn't "THE Rub." I didn't see that. It says it has 7% arnica. I put it on with a band aid over it to prevent curious fingers from wiping it off. I hope it will help!

Traumeel is excellent! I carry it in my diaper bag - it's a homeopathic cream. You should be able to find it at the health food store.

Traumeel is, what, 3X (1:1000) Arnica? I'd stick with the 7% stuff for topical relief of a bruise.
