Can I wear my newborn in a Moby?

I have a small 1 week old. She is 6lbs (but nursing like a champ). I want to wear her in a Moby but when I tried she crunches up with her chin to her chest and seems to have trouble breathing. I think it was the cuddle hold. am I missing something? Is it too soon? I am ready to venture up more and I want to take her with me... Help! I'd appreciate any tips or advice.

i had dd in the regular hug hold at 4 weeks, wouldve LOVED to sooner, but thats when i got my moby. shes loved it ever since. weve never used the cradle hold, which is what i think youre talking about, because of the chin/chest thing you mentioned. i dont like that.

You should be able to use it right away. If she's small, you may need to fold a receiving blanket to support her head & neck like a little pillow. That's what I recommend for people who buy my ring slings and have tiny babies.

It takes practice. If it's not working in that way, maybe try another position.

I did - only ever used the hug hold though.

I started using our moby at around 5 days and I seriously wish I had used it earlier! It made things so much easier especially when he was sleeping and people wanted to hold him, I would just keep him tucked up in the moby and let people take a peak

Like other people have said, try the hug hold -- he should be fully upright.
