watery poop

I forgot how much talk there is about poop when you have a newbie.
My little guy is 2 months old and was having frothy, watery poops with mucous in them. I have since cut out dairy which has gotten rid of the frothy part but his poops are still watery not grainy like I remember with my first. Is watery ok?

I'm not too experienced in this department, as this is my first babe. I do tend to check this site when wondering about poops, though. HTH.

Is teething an option? I know it's still early for your LO, though.

Sounds like it could be foremilk/hindmilk imbalance. Are you making sure to "finish" each breast before switching? I have to nurse on one side only to prevent this.

i'm in the same boat with my 6 week old.
i've stopped dairy 10 days ago, no change in mucous, but from what i've read it takes 2 weeks or more sometimes if it is dairy. Her behavior/ stomach upset/colic seems better already, but:
she also has a bad rash on her face and it hasn't gotten any better so i'm also in the process of stopping everything with dairy, soy, nuts, and eggs. i'm hoping it's not wheat.
i'll be interested in what others say about this...
and everyone also told me you have to stop soy as well as dairy if that's the problem, so if you haven't tried that, that's something else to look at.
otherwise, if it isn't an allergy, from what i have read, the hindmilk imbalance can make the poo look that way, too.
