Why fruit and veggies before grains?

My bubs is 6 mos and EBF. I was going to let him start to play/try food in a couple weeks, but had planned to avoid rice, wheat, oats for a while and just give him fruits and veggies. Anyone have a good argument for starting baby on grains first? My entire family wants to know why f&v first: other than it being a strong feeling I have, I'm not sure why.

I saw this today:

It says delaying intro of certain foods correlates with increased incidence of food allergies.

this talks about how introducing grains before baby is ready (which seems to coincide with when the molars come in) can lead to a food allergy.

some other cultures introduce animal protiens before other foods.
(cant find a link.. sorry!)

go with your gut though. 99% of the time your intuition is right on
