MSG in compost?

This is probably a strange question, but I have a big container of a spice mixture that has salt, sugar, and other random stuff plus MSG in it. Bought it years ago before my "read all the labels" revelation last year. I want to throw it out but was wondering if it should go in the trash or the compost? Any thoughts on whether the salt and/or MSG would cause a problem for my veggies or flowers next year?

One thing I do know, salt kills soil. I am not sure that composting will change that. My FIL puts salt under certain established trees in his yard to keep grass from growing under them... so I wouldn't put salt in it.

When Rome beat Carthage in the Punic Wars they salted the fields so nothing would ever grow there for years and years.
