talk to me about lapbooking

we have always been unschoolers, so i have never even seen lapbooking or know really what it is. but the little bit i looked at it on homeschoolshare.com, it looks like it could be really creative and hands on, which my DS loves.

so tell me more, and share your favorite sites with me.

i like lapbooks. we only do a few a year because i end up doing most of the cutting (and it's a royal pain) but my dd really retains the information and she loves looking through them. i have some websites i like listed at my blog under fav resources (scrolll down to lapbooks). i also have some pix of lapbooks we've done under my photos. i'd link you to them, but i'm on my dh's mac and i don't know how to pull up another window. all in all, lapbooking is something you'll just have to try and see if it's a fit or not. another option is "notebooking", which is similar to lapbooking but a lot less work imho. hth
