Mermaid tail question

Thread Starter
I've just started a waldorf style mermaid for my dd for Christmas. Has anyone made one with a tail that actually curves? Her only request was that the doll have red hair (check! thanks to mamajudesplantdyedstuff on Etsy), so, a curving tail is not a requirement. I just thought it might be neat! I supposed I'd just have to alter the tail pattern to accomplish this.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Instead of putting a curve in the pattern, you could make it flexible.

I got a really pretty little Waldorfy mermaid doll from A Toy Garden. The tail is not curved, but it bends easily. I think the tail is slightly weighted and the the fabric has a little stretch. I love it.

I've seen several types of soft fabric mermaids done with a curvy tail and they are darling!

there is a free pattern for a tail out there to put over the legs of a waldorfy doll. it is not curved, but I guess you could quite easily adapt it.
