semi-healthy xmas cookies?

Anyone got a not too terrible somewhat TF friendly cookie and frosting recipe? Or should I just accept that this is one of those special occasions...

Thanks!

I say just accept it and use good sense and moderation when baking and consuming.

A (mostly) TF blog I read just did a Christmas cookie thing... I don't think I saw any with frosting, but there were some yummy-looking maple cookies with decent ingredients.

My dairy-free, egg-free, mostly grain-free, coconut-free, chocolate-free self just has to salivate over the recipes. I might try to make something for my newly gluten-free husband before Christmas, but I dunno! Good luck!

These are grain-free cookies, using coconut flour. I've made them 3 times before and they turn out moist and soft, I like them.

I haven't used the 3 tablespoons of sugar because the sugar in the chocolate chips is enough and I didn't use as much chocolate chips as the recipe calls for. I've substituted macadamia nuts for walnuts. The third time I made this, I did sugar-free because I used chopped prunes instead of chocolate chips and only about a teaspoon of maple syrup and about 5 drops of liquid stevia. Doing that probably won't be sweet enough for most people, but I think its still good and my 2-year old likes them too.

I am going to bake until I drop. And spend all my money on coconut flour.

I found some treats (cookies and otherwise) on this blog...

I don't think any sweeteners are really healthy, but these seem like a good compromise, at least one that makes me happy.

I also like peanut butter or almond butter cookies, here's one recipe (which I just realized is from the blog above, but since we're gfcf, a flourless cookie works nicely)... and you can fiddle with the amount of sweetener.

I think sweeteners are okay in extreme moderation, like for the occasional holiday.

Oddly, I prefer pure organic cane sugar to honey because it's lower carb, so I may have to adjust some of these accordingly...

Check out http://elanaspantry.com for many cookie recipes that are typically made from almond flour and use alternative sweetners. (I always sub honey for the agave and coconut oil for the grapeseed oil--her recipes have worked pretty well for me...)

If you check out the nourishing gourmet site, she's got multiple candy recipes you could totally sub carob for in place of chocolate--maybe using palm shortening instead of the CO or butter. I've made some w/ carob for my son and they were really really yummy...I'll be making some chocolate covered apple slices for a party I'm going to using this recipe for the chocolate, and a carob version for ds.
