Anyone else's LO cough/wheeze for fun?

Hi, my 6.5 mo LO has just (in the last couple of days) started coughing/wheezing for fun. It started out as just breathing hard in and out, especially while she was on the breast, but now she's doing it as part of her play noises.

I'm pretty sure it's intentional and just to entertain herself, because she never seems to be surprised by it, has no other symptoms of illness, and it happens only when she's playing and making other noises too.

Anyone else's LOs do this?

Yes, my DD coughs for fun. I think it's pretty normal. And funny.

Yes my dd does, we have all sorts of coughing "conversations". I thought I was the only one until I was at the grocery and there was another mom and babe having their own coughing conversation!

I am so glad to know my baby isn't the only one! I thought it was really weird. It all started when my mom (who keeps DS two afternoons a week while I work part time) had a cough... he started imitating her, and now they cough back and forth at each other. Then I started it, too, and now he'll cough back and forth with both of us like a conversation. He loves it, gives us big grins! I'm glad to know he's not the only baby who does that!

Here, too! DS (13 mos) started it at about five months, tiny little coughs, sounding like polite throat clearing. I called it his diva cough (like, "ExCUSE me!!"), and now he's worked up to forceful nasal exhalations while nursing (he likes when I join him on this, and then starts trying to exhale quickly, before I can, so cute) and (just today, actually) full on "something in my throat" coughing...while I'm driving. (Not so cute! More like very scary! )

Yes, Peepers does this! She loves to gasp when she's excited, and then it ends up making her cough!

Yup, here too!
He started coughing to get my attention at about 5 months, then at about 7 months he started the loud, wheezy inhale thing. It scared the crap out of me at first, until he started pairing it with his happy-baby-arm-flapping; now it's hilarious!

Us too! I was really sick about a month ago, and have had a cough ever since. Myson started wheezing/gasping for breath, and coughing! It's pretty funny, and it startles people when he first does it.
