What do you call it?

What do you call breastfeeding to your lo's? I always say nursie or nursie milk. Like "Do you want to nursie?" or "Do you want some nursie milk?" I've heard lots of other things and was just curious as to what was most common.

it changes for us but the most common ones are 'nurse/nursing' 'milkies' or 'the milks' or 'milkers'

DH often hands ds to me and says 'he wants the milks'

I would say nurse or nursing. But my 3rd would say num-nums

I say nurse. I'm not actually that fond of the term but it is the term most often used here & so it is just the first word I think of.

I usually say are you hungry?

I nursed ds until he was three I worked part time so he did get bottles. So we had bottle milk and "mama milk" He also sort of learned to sign milk at about 7-8 months. It was so funny when i would come home from work he sign milk with both hands an started say meh, meh, meh the second he saw me

DD is only a newborn so right I tell dh she needs boob...I better stop that soon.

Nursing.

Sure, if the kid comes up with a cutesie name for it on his own, I wouldn't correct him (mine said "nuff"). But I'm a grown woman. I'm not calling it "nursie-nurse" or "nummies."

I've been calling it noms. As in "Nom nom nom", LOL.

With DS, I just called it milk, which he ended up pronouncing as "guck", then "muck".

well, I call it nursies, but DD has recently just started calling it "mama". someday she will figure out that there is a subtle difference between "mama" and my breasts!

Even when the kids are older & other people are around, I just ask if they'd like to nurse. I like when my 3 & 4 year olds comment about babies nursing & can use the same terminology that anyone else would in a conversation, yk?
i should probably stop referring to it as "boobie juice" before she's old enough to understand/repeat loudly in public.

it's mama milk here.
