Cervical Polyps???

So, I am 15 weeks pregnant and I have a cervical polyp. I spotted from weeks 4 to 11, and then the spotting mysteriously stopped. My Ob didn't want to remove the the polyp, and I was fine with that.

I have a new Ob now, and he is suggesting removal. I sort of want to remove the polyp because it does cause some pain with sex and I don't want anymore spotting. But, I don't really want to mess with my cervix either.

Has anyone had a cervical polyp removed while pregnant?

I found a polyp on my cervix a few months ago (totally freaked out before I figured out what it was), right before I found out I was pregnant (due in May). My OB-GYN said there was no point removing it, and my pap smear came back normal. My midwife said she would check it before my due date just to make sure it hasn't grown very large. (I haven't wanted to check my cervix lately) I asked midwife if it's common for polyps to come off during birth, but she said "no." I know they can get larger due to pregnancy hormones, so I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me. I hate thinking about it hanging around in there. If I could avoid it, I personally wouldn't have anything removed on my cervix while I'm pregnant.

Got one, too! Found because of bleeding at six weeks. I was told that they actually do tend to come of during labor. If mine doesn't, I'll just have it removed afterward. I found conflicting info online about whether or not they should be removed during pregnancy, though at the hospital they seemed to think it was fine. If mine looked like this (scroll down to bottom of page - only if you're not squeamish, seriously), though, I think I'd be running to get it removed!

i know this is late but i found out at 9 weeks i had a polyp on my cervix,at 10 weeks my ob decided to removed it and at 19 weeks 6 days i end up goin into premature labor,had my daughter at 20 weeks 6 days,i believe he weakend my cervix from removin the stupid a$$ polyp when i didnt even know it was there and didnt have no problems
