My daughter is 12 months old. Her entire life, my husband has worked overnights. He left as I got her into bed at night and would be home after she woke up. I've always done all the naps and night-wakings by myself.

He is FINALLY on a day shift!

I was thrilled thinking I'd get a break at night (and, at 8.5 months pregnant I need it!) but... nope. The second she sees him at night she starts screaming- and I don't mean crying, I mean full-out panicking, trying desperately to get out of his arms style screaming. I will eventually intervene but after he has her for 10 minutes I spend the next 45 minutes calming her down again to the point where she can relax enough to sleep.

She's still waking up a lot- a good night is 2-3 wake ups, a normal night is 5-7, a bad night is 10+. I could really use the help (especially once I'm dealing with a newborn as well, I only have 2 boobs and 2 arms and there's only so much I can do!)

Can anyone think of a nice, gentle, less-screaming way to get her used to having her Dad at night?
