Burned looking rash on the butt? From sitting?

My 6mo Dd has such sensitive skin, food allergies and eczema that it's hard to tell what's normal for her. Recently, she's been getting an occasional (a couple times a week) burned looking rash on her butt right where her butt bone hits when she sits up. I showed dh and he said it looks like she was smacked (which she wasn't, because she's with me 24/7, but that's what it looks like). I'm wondering if this is because she getting really good at sitting so she does that more than lie on the ground, and it's chafing or something. She wears cloth diapers, prefolds and pockets. She almost always has a rashy looking diaper area, but it doesn't bother her and it's always been like that. So, has anyone else ever noticed something like this when their baby started sitting?

Hi! My 6mo old DD has multiple food intolerances and gets a rash (looks like a burn) on her bottom when she is reacting to something I've eaten. Do you keep a food diary? Maybe it is associated with something you are eating. . .

Best wishes in finding a solution!

Thanks! I used to keep a food journal, but don't anymore. However, she always gets eczema when I eat something she's allergic too (dairy, soy, peanuts, nuts) but I guess this could be something new.

It might be foods, it might be detergent buildup. Have you tried using Lansinoh to waterproof her bottom?
