11 month old not interested in finger foods

this is my third child and i've never had this issue before, so i just wanted to know how common this is.

my ds is 11 months and he doesn't like to eat anything other than 2nd foods baby jars (and breastmilk, of course). he's not interested in cheerios or bananas or anything like that. he tends to gag on things he's not used to eating.

i know he will eventually move on and eat "real" foods", but i'm just curious if anyone here ever had an eater like this? and when did he/she outgrow it?

Baby-Led

I think people might not be replying because there are so many baby-led feeding folks here. I had posted about rice cereal and that's how I found out about it. I just posted about my 8-mo old not eating at all, but from what I've read of other posts, it seems that following their lead is the best way, and only offering what they can feed to themselves. I'm not sure how that works if you have already been doing purees for many months, but I recently moved to this method with my 4-yr old just by having him serve himself from common platter, and it really has helped him eat better.
