What's on your baby's wish list?

I just received an email from yet another relative, asking what my 7-month DD "wants for Christmas." I'm at a loss to answer - I mean, she doesn't usually "want" anything except mama milk, and it's not like my aunt and uncle can help her with that. We have so many toys already I'm not sure we can accommodate all that many more. But I have to tell them something.

What have you put on your child's "wish list" for this holiday season? Any ideas?

We don't have much for DS's next stage of development so I had a pretty good wish list to work from when family members asked:
- a collection of musical instruments
- mixed cds of music from around the world (my dad travels a lot)
- a push cart (Radio Flyer)
- a ride-on toy (Wheelie Bug)
- 2 natural canvas sling-style book "shelves"
- a wood sled for pulling in the snow
- a play kitchen (Ikea)
- wooden fruit, etc, for the kitchen

My family are all big into gifts and they want to give things that are both significant and meaningful so I had to have a list prepared well in advance. I hate to do this for myself and am so uncomfortable with asking for specific things but it really made life easier. DS just had his birthday so we've already received 1/2 of these things - all super high quality and long-lasting type toys so I'm very happy.

Whenever I'm stumped, I always ask for books. You can never have too many books (I may regret saying that someday!), they don't have to be expensive, people can put a lot of thought into their choice (and therefor enjoy the giving part) and they are perfect for re-gifting if need be.

Personally I always keep an Amazon wish list going for my LO so when things come up that I think I want I just add it and then I can refer people when they ask instead of being caught off guard.

Here is our current list, http://amzn.com/w/33SUJ2Z9X1EKI.

But with a 7+ month old I would ask for.
books
push toy
mega blocks, or some kind of building blocks
and clothes or shoes your not likley to buy yourself.

DS will be 4 months old and the list we sent the grandmas included:
a zoo membership
clothes in the next size up from carters, zutano or other soft cotton items
soft soled shoes like robeez
soft blocks, nesting cups, stacking rings, soft ball, sophie giraffe, books (our baby shower was a books shower so ds has quite the library already)

from us he's getting a beco butterfly II (ok, that's really for me but he'll enjoy it too!)

Good advice!

The only thing my DD needed was a special highchair (Click). Other than that I'm sure she'll get a few toys and some clothes. I'm not going to buy her anything special for Christmas.

Great ideas! Thanks. That helped enormously! I've just sent off the email. Plus I remembered a few small things that I've been wishing I had for her but didn't have the energy or wherewithal to go and buy. Excellent! Now I just have to convince Grandma not to go overboard on her end...

Happy holidays!

Another idea you may be interested in...
We set up DD's 529 plan for her college savings, and DH sent out a link where family members/friends can easily contribute online. He wrote a nice e-mail that went along with the link explaining that DD would most appreciate contributions to her college fund. It seems to be working! She isn't even 8 months old and already has a little chunk of change in there!!!
