What do you do with your breastpads?

That sounds like the most ridiculous title, but I'm wondering what you do with your pads while you are breastfeeding.

I've been using the disposable Lansinoh pads and find that I have to take them all the way out of my bra when I nurse. Otherwise, they become this crinkled mess that make my boobs look all bumpy and lumpy when I pull my bra back up.

So, I just take them out. But, that is a little awkward in public. Not to mention that it's weird to just leave my pad sitting next to me while I nurse.

What do you do with yours? Are resusable ones better for this reason (I know they are better for lots of reasons). Any pads that you recommend more?

Thank you.

A better question might be 'what does your baby do with your breastpads' because my son yanks mine out 9 times out of 10. In the mornings I have to hunt all in the bed to see where they've gone. Mine are usually a crinkly mess too.

When NIP, I'd just leave the pads in my bra, even if I was using disposable pads that day and they turned into a crinkly mess. Cloth pads DO hold up better when squished in the bottom of a bra (the cup kind of turns into a pocket when it's unfastened). At home, I'd put the pad on a flat surface next to me (I always nursed near a table to hold my drink) and put it back in properly (or put in a fresh one, if that one was too wet) after we were done.

I don't wear them anymore, but in the beginning when I was leaky I'd have to take them all the way out, I couldn't stand them bring wadded up in my bra while I nursed. At home I'd leave them on the couch or table or whereever. In public, I'd usually put them on my baby or between the baby and my body, or on my lap under the baby.

I just take out the pad on the side I'm nursing on & stuff it in whatever discreet place I have handy...purse, jacket pocket, wherever I can stash it. Then, later when I have a chance to go to the bathroom, I'll stick another clean one in my bra so that I'm not leaking all over I do have some cloth pads that, I agree, handle nursing & being "uncrinkled" pretty well, but I leak a lot & need more protection than they offer typically...so this is what I've found that works for me after three babies. Good luck!
