The Challenge-Are YOU Up For It?? - Page 27

Didn't do any decluttering today-- it was a very busy day-- even though we brought in an item (an audiobook, FWIW)-- so tomorrow I'll get rid of 15 things! I promise!

Just FFS 22 fitteds that need repair. They'll be headed out in the mail on Saturday along w/ the 3rd donation trip to the thrift shop.

Dropped off 15 pieces of clothing to my mom for my niece.

15 FFS diapers going out today.

16 stuffed animals/dolls/toys (yeah dd for being able to let it all go!)

5 more clothing items for my SIL

(gotta count up the books I've collected, too)

17 more (old cassettes I am never going to listen to again)

43 more items!

I brought 6 items in from the Salvation Army yesterday - 5 sweaters for upcycling and a basket for wooden toys. The basket is already in use. 3 sweaters have been washed and are drying. 4th has had the arms cut off and waiting to be turned into longies for the baby and 5th is waiting to be felted.

Oh, I am so behind.... I have to get rid of 85 things tonight, to meet my goal. I am pretty sure I can do it though!

Well, snow shoveling has taken priority over decluttering the past couple of days. But I've managed a couple items in the course of doing house projects:

444: rubber threshold piece
445: towel rack
446: small paint can--finished it up
447 & 448 wooden trim sections
449: little unidentified plastic thing

Got my five in today too!

I finally got to really attacking all my hidden problem spots. I now have clean closets and craft storage area and now all I have left to do is watch what I bring in and focus in on paperwork!

I've already noticed how decluttering has become a 'habit' of mine. I love it!

Thank you so much for this thread. again!

i finally got my husband to start going through his clothes and pulling out donation items.
I'm done! A relative came over and helped me with one last push, and I have made my quota for this challenge of 150 things plus penalties. Plus more than that. So I am ready for my reward.

I missed out on this one. Will there be another challenge soon?

253-254. box + peanuts to a neighbor
255. returned unwanted Christmas gift to Williams Sonoma

unfortunately, neighbor gave me 2 skeins of yarn ... and I exchanged the gift for an apple corer, a honey dipper and a set of stainless steel measuring cups, so now my goal for the month is 350.

very good friend is in town visiting, so I haven't done much decluttering. We're planning to have a "free-sale" this weekend, though, to get rid of some crap in our garage! *and* a computer-trash-recycling pick-up is scheduled for Saturday! I probably have 300 pieces of technotrash, cd's, videos, etc to take!

I sure hope so! This thread has been so amazingly good for me (and a lot of other's I imagine too). Especially since we are a family of four living in just over 800 square feet it made an enormous impact in just keeping things functioning smoothly on a day to day basis.

I think the next challenge should be slightly different. Keep with the penalty thing, but something more along the lines of maintenance/routines??? I don't know, what do you think?

I haven't posted in a while but had already reached my goal so I'm not really counting anymore. Today a friend stoped by and I gave her a huge garbage bag and a diaper box full of clothes that my daughter has outgrown. She was happy because her daughter was in need of the next size clothing so it was perfect.

450. Wallet
451. Change purse
452. Phone card, rewards card
453-460. Clothing items
461. emails--inbox, sent box, draft box are officially empty
462-463: notebooks
464: eye pillow
465: shawl

That's all folks! I'm traveling for the rest of the month, so just wanted to say thank you to everyone on the thread. The support, accountability, and encouragement were so helpful. My life feels lighter, and a week of travel is my reward. Happy decluttering...

This is my bowing-out post, too thanks for the support, mamas! Our home is now in squeaky clean condition and it's officially on the market!!

Two more things in the door last nite, but one is going to be a straight replacement (in with the new out with the old). The other is a baby toy we are "borrowing". Still, I am going to try to get 15 things out the door today. So far...
