In the middle of the Grey Cup
. Which was hilarious, because we live in Saskatchewan, which was one of the teams playing, and people here go CRAZY about their football team. So the delivery nurse was wearing her Roughriders jersey all through my delivery, and I got lots of skin to skin time with baby because everyone wanted to go and watch the last 15 min. of the game . . .
. Pretty funny stuff.
Anyway, that said, here's the specs:
We had a girl, named Emma Claire, 8 lbs and around 20 inches. She is super sweet with loads of brown hair and really bright eyes. She still sleeps a ton which is great, although she sleeps a lot during the day when the rowdies ar awake, and is up a lot at night. Nursing is going well, but she has a cold right now, so she's a bit grumpy and having trouble.
The delivery was great. After a week of on again off again labour, including two false trips to the hospital, I finally started into active, productive labour around 5pm on Sunday night. By 7:30 I was 5 cm dialated, and by 8:10 we were meeting Emma. It was super quick, just really intense and no break between transition and pushing.
