Another reason to love homeschooling

I never thought of this one, but it's 6 degrees outside this morning.
Our school district doesn't have buses.

DD's sitting in her warm room on her warm rug in her warm jammies playing with her doll house. I'm on my way to my warm kitchen to make some hot coffee in my cool jammies.

Wanted to post this on my facebook status but decided it was more considerate to post it here.....

Yes, not having to go out in the cold/rain/snow is a definite perk.

It's -10F here. I'm singing the praises of homeschooling.

It's not that cold here today, but it was last week. The only children bussed in our town either live out in the country or across the highway. I was seriously hoping they had canceled school a couple of days last week but dh said he saw kids down there.

It's around 32 today but last week we had a cold snap with -18 windchills and I was so glad we didn't have to go anywhere unless we wanted to!

It's nowhere near that cold here, and yet I am still unbelievably grateful when I hear the school bus drive on by our house at 6:30 in the morning. Just a month ago we were having to bundle up and wait outside in the cold and dark. Not anymore. Now my girly gets to stay cozy in bed until whenever she feels like waking up. Rather than starting the day with grumbles and groans, I get a sweet "Good Morning, Mommy" as she sleepily wanders her way out of her room complete with bed-head and squinty eyes. It's great.
