didn't want to hijack another thread, but.. um..
if you're bf, what would exactly the "signs of returning fertility" be?
i don't really want to use any of the available methods of bc but we also want to do a little spacing, especially because i still have like 40 pounds to lose. geez.

Well my baby is 3mos old today and I am breastfeeding ROUND the clock and I am pretty positive that I ovulated yesterday. I had the tell tale ovulation pain, increase cervical mucous ect.

I am hoping that I am wrong and things will hold off for a while but it doesn't seem to promising. I cannot possibly breastfeed anymore then I am right now, he doesn't even take a paci! UGH

I got loads of EWCM last week, plus I think I had O pain, but I got my tubes tied so not sure if I did or not, sure felt like it though. My kid also nurses all the time and has had like 4 bottles, I'm so glad I got my tubes tied-2 kids is enough for me(I just visited mt SIL with 6 and it's great, but I couyld never do it).

increased cervical mucus, ovulation pain, abnormal bleeding, or a period. They can all signal ovulation... and you can ovulate before your first period.
We use NFP and I want at least 2 years spacing between my kiddos so I am watching my mucus like a hawk...

i've got my period back already - 12wks this time, after 6wks with ds1. personally i take that as a sign - never could tell when i was ovulating.

i took precautions after that. the first time i didn't i got pregnant with ds2. breastfed that whole time (no solids til 8mths with ds1 - and still had my period every 26days

so from my own experience i wouldn't say breastfeeding is very reliable bc
