Yikes! carpet smells like pee

My sweet old dog is in early kidney failure. Sometimes, esp at night, he loses control and pees on the carpet. My steam cleaner broke, it will be a while before I have cash to buy one. I rented a rug doctor a while back and wasn't satisfied w/ the job it did or the price for the rental. Do I have other options? Maybe a vin/water mix poured directly onto the stinky area? Off to diffuse some essential oils. . .

p.s. his spot of choice is under the dining room table, totally not what I want to smell while eating!

An enzyme solution like Nature's Miracle would probably be your best bet. It will actually break down the urine, rather than just masking the smell like with essential oils.

Second Natures Miracle BUT it only works right if its the first thing you use on the area. The enzymes can't break down the urine stuff if other cleaners have already been applied.

I'd try Bac-Out. That's what I used on my mattress when DS had an accident in the middle of the night.
