Teething at 3 months?

So about a week ago, my baby has started having difficulties.

He's had a diaper rash come and go and come again.

He's having a difficult time sleeping, where he used to lay down after being nursed and just fall right to sleep. Now it takes us 2 or 3 hours to get him in bed.

He also is crying a ton. I used to think maybe it was because he was stressed out and just needed to "talk" about his feelings or something, but it's starting to sound more and more like a pain cry.

Also, he has a new aversion to breastfeeding. If I offer it at the wrong moment he gets really upset. In fact he won't really eat unless he's pretty much starving. He's still having enough wet and dirty diapers that I'm not too worried about it, but he still doesn't really like doing it this last week.

I think he might be teething, but it seems REALLY early to me. He also has been drooling more, and this morning after trying to get him to fall back asleep he finally calmed down once he started sucking on my finger.

If it is too early, what else can I look for to help him feel better? I don't know if it'd be allergies? Ear ache? Gastrointestinal issues?

If he is teething, I'd like to know if anyone else had an early teether? Will his schedule go back to normal or are we all just going to have to deal? I wish he'd wait longer to teeth so that he could actually hold toys in his mouth by himself and/or nibble on crackers....but on the other hand, I guess I'd rather know what's causing his misery and that it's normal instead of wondering if it's time to call the doctor or not.

I know this is a little ramble-y. If this sounds like anything you other mamas are experienced with, I'd like to know what it most likely is.

My DD had her first tooth at 3.5 months-it sounds like teething to me. My son is 11 weeks and I am pretty sure he's already teething too, he's been pretty irritable off and on. We need some teething tablets pretty bad.

Oh and she teethed pretty much for the large part of 2.5 years, we seem to have perpetual teethers, ugh.

DS started showing teething signs at 10 weeks, first two! teeth at 4.5 months or so. But yeah, the first month of it was tough, since he wasn't able to point things in his mouth right (could grab them, but no aim!) and he was pretty frustrated. We got him a pacifier-rasberry thing and held it in his mouth a lot - and got a very simple round ring teether that he could use easily rather than the teether giraffe we have (which he *loves* now though!)

but he was pretty fussy and hard those few weeks before he could help himself more with it. It comes and goes with him as well, so it may get better and then bad again before you actually see teeth!
