Swine Flu vacc during pregnancy? - Page 2

October: injecting mercury is differen then sending it through your GI tract, where it gets detoxed by your liver. I think the amount of Hg in Tuna is crazy high considering the amount we all already have, but it is safer than injecting it!

Also, the claim that this is the 'same as the seasonal flu shot' does not hold up. There are 5 different versions of the h1n1 vaccine, with 5 different patents. These are all different formulations. Then there are several versions of the seasonal shot, and these are different even than last years formulations. Many of us believe that ALL ingredients in a shot matter, not just the virus, and these differ even within the H1N1 shots out this year. (Like how a PP pointed out that those versions in the UK and CA have MF59, really if you go world over, there are even more than 5 different versions out there!)

They recalled that brand. Even the single vials of other brands still have trace mercury. Sanofi was approved for children as young as 6 months and is the only version with an approval in such a young age group. All the package inserts can be accessed online.

What's worse, the vacc or the Tamiflu?
I would say no to both the vax and the Tamiflu. I had swine flu while 19 weeks pregnant and let it run its course naturally, without any meds (no fever-lowering meds either). My fever got up to 101 a couple days, but I did homeopathy, extra fluids, garlic, and had dh take time off of work to watch my 3 small kids so that I could rest a little.

You can find oscillococcinum in almost any natural food store. It's a homeopathic for certain flus. Another remedy people with H1N1 have found to be useful is nux vomica. I gave my kids apis belladonna when their fevers were high during h1n1.

I'm surprised people are still getting vaccinated despite reports that the "pandemic" is over. We had a news article (canada.com) where some medical guy said that only 30% of the population needed to be vaccinated/catch it to slow the spread to zero and that he thought all flu clinics should be over.

Where did you hear there is evidence of a third wave next fall? Everything I've read/researched says it's overblown, the mildest flu ever and no third wave.

None of the shots are tested pregnant women, well unless you consider the women that have received the vax this fall. I guess that's testing.

It's not worth it to me and I have asthma that gets bad when I'm sick.
Same for me. I struggled with the decision at first, but I too get a terrible asthmatic cough/ bronchitis with even a normal cold that can last 6 weeks and wrack my whole body. I kept in mind "the benefit outweighs the risk", and for me, personally, it did/ does
I haven't had any adverse reaction, the baby seems healthy... of course there's no way of knowing for sure, just as there's no way to know whether I would've gotten the flu, but I feel confident and comfortable with my decision (I also got the regular seasonal flu shot, spread out over a month or two because the H1N1 was unavailable until I was about 22 weeks).

I did not get the H1N1 vaccine. It's not something I would normally get, and definitely not while pregnant. My family did have H1N1 early during my pregnancy and yes, having the flu sucked, but we recovered in about a week. I also do not get the seasonal flu vax.

The doctor I saw at the local military hospital did recommend getting it, but that certainly doesn't mean it's in my best interest. To each their own, though.

Hi there. Please see the H1N1 discussion guidelines at the top of the forum. There is an open thread in the Vaccinations forum that you can take part in if you feel comfortable. Thank you for your understanding.

So I am closing this thread.
