Can you freeze cheesecakes?

Background....My Mom has Alzheimer's. My two oldest brothers live with her right now.

So, I don't think we will be able to get to her house Christmas Day. So I was thinking of preparing their whole Christmas Dinner including a pumpkin cheesecake as their Christmas Gift since we don't have any money for regular gifts.

My question is, can they freeze the cheesecake in portions? I am thinking of making this Paula Deen recipe but they may not be able to eat it all in a couple of days. Can they freeze it?

Yes you can!! I would suggest that after it is made and set that you slice the pieces as you would like and then place them on parchment paper in the freezer to get frozen. Then transfer them into a storage container. This way the pieces dont freeze to each other. Plus it makes eating 1 or 2 pieces a lot easier. To "thaw" I usually take out of the freezer and place in the fridge it normally takes 48 hrs to be a good cheesecake consistency. I do it all the time as Im the only one who likes cheesecake.
