Supportive, good slippers?? My feet hurt!!!

Couldn't decide where to post this...

Besides being pregnant & having the extra weight, I normally have a bad lower back. I have tried so many slippers from Target & such & they just provide no support & end up flat & all stretched out.

When I google phrases like "orthopedic slippers" or "slippers with arch support" some of the brands that come up are: Haflinger, Uggs, Acorn, Old Friend...

Anyone have slippers with great support that you love? Any of these brands good???

My feet thank you!!!!

Gotta love mammoth crocs! - I find crocs super comfy and supportive and with the fleece lining, super warm too! Not 'sipplers' per se - but they can be worn anywhere! lol

Haflinger slippers have a nice supportive cork footbed. I like them.

I wear good shoes with an orthotic appliance indoors. I keep them exclusively for indoors, so they're clean.

I wear my Birkenstocks around the house... can't live in anything else. My feet hurt so bad when I don't wear them. Maybe you could get a pair and just keep them for inside?

Love my Birkys for around the house with the soft footbed, not the original. They stay in the house and aren't used for outdoors, just indoor.

Chacos

crashing....but I have some awesome Isotoner slippers that have one of those "memory" type foam in the foot bed. I dont wear shoes indoors but in the winter the hardwood floor is VERY cold and actually makes my feet hurt. They really help support my arch and are super snuggly warm. I got them in a dept store, they were a little more pricy but extremely comfy.

I am wearing mine pretty much any time I'm not in bed these days!

I was going to suggest birks as well.

Thx for the suggestions. I have my Birks (this pair is about 2 years old or so & are the typical/original type) but I felt like during the last pregnancy they didn't really help much. And the cork is rubbing my foot weird & really hurts. I would also like something a little warmer. We have hardwood & tile only. Believe me, I spent many years (and did a few Grateful Dead tours ) in Birks, but they just aren't doing the trick for me right now.

I will look up the other ones mentioned...

Any other suggestions?

I've been stealing my husbands crocs because they are great for cushioning while standing at the counter cooking or doing dishes, as I often do. Anytime I leave the house I wear socks and sneakers which helps with my lower back pain a ton. But when all else fails, a little arnica on the feet before bed is a lifesaver.

I'm going to second the suggestion about the crocs with the woolly insert. Since you're looking for slippers, I'm assuming that you want them for around the house, and the wool definitely makes them comfy. And they are much cheaper (not to say warmer) than chacos and birks! I have a leg condition where my calves lean inward, making arch support crucial, and I've been amazed at how much support the crocs give you. The only thing is that they can be a little clumsy, but if you're doing household tasks, they are definitely good.

I grimaced when my mom got them for me last year because they were so ugly, but seriously, give them a try.

I cannot live without my MTB "Masai" shoes! They are keeping me on my feet during pregnancy and help me avoid feet and back pains when not. My main pair I have been using for about three years now. And I have one pair of sandals for summer/indoor use.

Expensive, but so worth it for me!

Each member of my family has a pair of crocs that don't go outside. We call them our "House Crocs." I find that they're really comfortable and supportive after a long day on my feet (I'm a high school teacher). If it's too cold out, I wear socks.

My DH and I both absolutely love our Mammoth Crocs! We've had them about a year, and they're the perfect slipper. You can buy replacement inserts when they get too worn out, but so far we haven't needed to. The inserts are removeable and washable, and so very very warm!!! I feel like they're great arch support.
You can order them online if no nearby stores carry them.

I've been wearing Crocs indoors since my daughter was born. They are amazingly supportive, if hideous!

Yet another vote for crocs. I tend to like to just wear socks around the house but with the extra weight the crocs have been a life(foot)saver.

I bought my dad some slippers from Tempurpedic at a local mall for his Christmas gift and gave them to him early. They are so cushy and soft. They're a bit expensive ($49/pr) but seem to be worth it. He loves them.
