That _is_ a lot of fish oil, is it helping? Again, since most people don't need such high doses, but I assume you're feeling better with it, I'd want to look into why this is what your body needs (and like Wuwei said, YAY! for looking into this pre-TTC, I was clueless back then, totally clueless).
I've talked to a scientist who believes this dose is closer to what moms should be taking who are having children and nursing back to back. This is totally my thing and I'm just being cautious with getting enough omegas for me, nursling, and hopefully baby to be. THere's a lot on the net about 9 grams of omega 3 being the theraputic dose for lots of health problems.
|I'd also consider a prenatal (or multivit) with real folate instead of folic acid. In the US, Thorne is an easy one to get, it's available online a lot, not sure if you can get Thorne online. Real folate is good for everyone, folic acid is okay for most people, but some people (probably those who need it most) don't convert it well into folate that your body can use.
I get cracks in the corners of my mouth when I slack of my prenatals, so I'm thinking that's b related. Whether I have folate issues I'm not sure. I will look into that prenatal, but I really love mine. It has lots of chelated minerals, calcium/mag, that I would have to probably supplement most other prenatals. It's six huge pills a day, so they are really packed.
It sounds like you're already doing this, but let me encourage you to read really carefully before getting your fillings out. It would likely stretch your ttc timeline out a lot:
DS, my second child, was 14 mos old when I found out what was going on with me. I expect he will be 5 yo when our third (if/when, you know how it goes) is born. Maybe I could've done things faster, certainly my brain was pretty fuzzy and I felt pretty bad at the beginning, but I started with a good list of supps and a plan to wean him, which I did when he was 21 mos. Then I got my fillings out and have been chelating since, 20 months now. I think I'm about 6 months from done, best guess, and I know it was slowed down some because I've been supplementing and chelating the kids at the same time. But I never planned a 5-year gap between #2 and potential #3.
1) You'd almost certainly choose to wait until babe #1 wasn't nursing any more to do it.
2) Based on what I've read, you'd want to do at least a year of active mercury detox/chelation after getting your amalgams removed, before considering getting pregnant.
You could decide to get them out and do nothing except nutritional supplements (and I mean be careful, vitamins and minerals and nothing to mobilize) and probably in 12 months you'd be at a similar place as you are now--best guess, since I don't know if there's a whole lot of data. Over time you'd be healthier, but your LO would likely get roughly the same exposure as now--lots of best guesses, of course.
People do have babies with lots of mercury in their mouths and have it work out OK, and it can be safer than having them removed and not having enough time to manage the mercury detox after. I'm glad you have a supportive DH, and I'm sure you'll be able to come up with a good plan that works for your family!
I am so appreciative of what I am learning through you all, yet I am undone. I have knots of muscle tissue (inflammation) all over my body. 30 plus spots. When you press them lightly, it feels like you are touching a bruise, only there isn't one and it hurts. They do not go away. Believe it or not I am mostly normal though, at least I thought I was, and I'm realizing that maybe I'm sicker than I thought I was.
I am really lost after reading all the posts? so is it better to leave the fillings in place and get pregnant or remove them b4 pregnancy. and do i have to wait 18 months after removal to get pregnant again?? thats a long time! the thouhgt of getting pregnant and exposing my child to mercury from my fillings is so yucky....i dont want to do that knowing abt the possible side effcts. but is it more harm to remove the fillings and get pregnant in 6 months?? pls i need to know as iam getting closer to my first filling removal.
If only they didnt put these in the mouth at first....
thanks the for the feedbak.
