think fast - what would you say?

backstory: dh's best friend from 6th grade on is expecting his first any day now. they don't know if it's a boy or not. dh & friend are not close any longer. i am not close w/ friend's wife.

i emailed friend's wife (afterwards FW) a week ago. asked my usual - what did you find when you researched circ? as well as a few other things like i'm glad i researched it, did you come across these sites (DOC & another one by mothers who oppose circ). got a response this morning & she answered everything else but the circ question.

since the baby will be born any day now, i need to reply ASAP. what would you say? they are w/ a mainstream OB & she's "hoping" to go natural but is worried about how much it will hurt.

not sure of what i'm going to say - i'll likely think of something & post again.

thanks,
sus

Maybe mention that going natural and not circumcising also prevents pain.

Personally, I think that you need to walk away at this point. You are not close to this family. She does not want to discuss it with you. It sounds like she has made it very clear by responding to the rest of your email and ignoring that single part.

If you feel a need to continue, this is a good information piece to send:

http://icgi.org/Downloads/FD2.pdf

It includes things a doctor might not say, or may minimize.

I'm happy they had a healthy baby girl! And you planted a seed that will hopefully have a future impact if they ever have a little boy.
