Weird all body aches-anyone else? (xpost)

So just this week my body (esp at night while sleeping) has started aching in both my muscles (all of them) and in my joints. It feels almost like lactic acid build-up if you've ever run a long race or done a long hike that you weren't in complete condition to do . My joints feel a little better if I use a body pillow but my muscles still ache (no sharp pains like a charlie horse or cramps). I don't have a fever and am not feeling sick. I'm already taking a Mag/Ca/Zinc supplement, too. Last night, I did my hypnobabies self-anesthesia and it worked quite well except by the time I thought to do it after tossing and turning for an hour or whatever, I was too awake to go to sleep for a while. I'm wondering if this is a side effect of relaxin now that I'm getting into the 3rd Tri zone. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of it? Anything make it better or is this just one of those discomforts of preg you just deal with?

Thanks!

I know exactly what you are talking about. I had this for most of the first and second trimester. I could barely get out of bed in the morning. I figured out what was wrong sort of by accident. I started noticing that my skin was dry and my lips were dry and cracking, so I started drinking a lot more water. Once I did that, my joint and muscle pain went away. I drink around 100 ounces per day now, and that seems to be the magic number for me. When I slack on my water drinking for a couple days, I start feeling the soreness coming back. I don't know how much you are drinking, but I would start there. It took me months to figure out such a simple solution to a painful problem. Hope this helps!

Yes. It's what has made me consider massage therapy. It's relented a bit now, but around 18-19 wks I had horrible aches.

I've had this, too. Not so much this pregnancy as last one- I get into bed and it feels like I've been moving furniture all day, just all of my muscles are aching. No sharp pains, no cramps, just pain.

No idea how to make it go away- it comes and goes for me as it is.

I also get very stiff if I sit still too long. For weeks, sometimes when I get up, my muscles will be sore like I worked out. I am not totally sedentary, but the muscle aches feel like I've overdone with exercising.

Well...I've followed WildTurkeyLeg's advice for the past few days, chugging water (when I thought about it I had been slacking on water and having dehydrating things, sugar, etc). And guess what? It WORKS! It's true I have to drink much more than I thought I would need and I do have to pee even more than pregnancy normal, but it's worth it. Still having joint achies but not as bad (pillows help) I just chalk that up to the third trimester (hello 3rd trimester!). Thanks for your advice Wild... Have any of you others tried the massive water drinking? Thank goodness I started Zantac or I'm not sure I would have been able to keep all this water down. Yeah!
