Does anyone else have excruciatingly LONG cycles??
I'm on CD22 and STILL have not ovulated. Last month, it was CD25.

I was used to not o'ing until cd16-18, but lately, it seems that the first part of my cycle is is getting longer and longer.

Anyone else?

Right there with you. My first month charting (after my first PPAF) I ovulated on CD 31. Last month it was 21, which was better, but it still feels like it takes forever to get there.... And this month I'm only on CD 8, so we'll see.

It's very frustrating...
I did get a positive OKP today, so yay!

After my ppaf I didn't o until cd33, this month it was cd23. It really makes ttc so much more stressful. It's not like you can say, well after af I can try again in 2 weeks.

Another later Oer here (CD20-25 usually). It's annoying, but I just tell myself it could be worse... I could be a CD80 Oer or something.

Congrats on the + OPK!!!!

Well, I just started charting but my cycles are typically 35-40 days. Last month I o'ed on CD 21..so I feel your pain..we'll see what happens this month. Good luck and baby dust to all..

I definitely belong here! My last cycle was 113 days w/no ovulation. My RE had to put me on Provera (after cream progesterone didn't work) to force me to start a cycle so that they could start my infertility testing. When I went off BCP last October my first few cycles seemed normal and then started getting longer and longer until this last marathon cycle. It is so frustrating!!! I stopped temping regularly because it seemed so pointless. And so far my b/w, ultrasounds, and HSG test have all come back w/in normal limits. AAAHHH!

If I remember correctly, TCOYF says a long cycle is 40+ days.

Indianagrl.... you sound just like me. Off of BCP in February and my cycles were 85ish, 45ish, 55ish, and now the most recent cycle, 98 days. OYE! I went a few weeks ago and my exam was all normal and they did blood work to test hormones, thyroid, testosterone, and I haven't heard back, so I'm assuming it was 'normal' [note to self... call for results].

Are you doing anything to try and help those cycles along? I started taking Maca at the end of my last cycle. I'm convinced it helped push me along to O. I need to encapsulate some more and start taking it again.

I was talking to DH yesterday and decided that each day is a day closer to our sweet babe, no matter how long it takes. That was a reassuring thought. It is so ridiculous to wait 80 days for a one/two day chance to conceive.

Have you really long cycle girls looked into progesterone boosting in some way? I've been reading up on estrogen dominance, and one of the signs is ovulating later. I've had a weak LP (part of the reason I think I'm Oing on 20-25 when I know I've Oed consistently on 14-15 in the past) and I've been taking B6. Mine is due in part to nursing, which is why I'm taking B6 (supresses prolactin so that progesterone can work better as prolactin and progesterone compete for the same hormone recepters in the brain) but there are other reasons for lower progesterone too. I dunno - just throwing it out there.

I'm currently seeing an acupuncturist and I think that is what is helping me get back to "normal" this cycle. This summer an endocrinologist had put me on progesterone to try to combat my high levels of estrogen, but it just seemed to make things worse. And now my estrogen levels seem to be with-in the normal range. It is all so frustrating!

During my marathon cycle my gyno had ordered an ultra-sound to rule out some things and found that both of my ovaries had multiple follicles, but I never ovulated. This cycle, I just had an u/s yesterday and it showed one follicle in each ovary; the nurse said everything was exactly how they wanted to see it! So what has been going on with me all year?

I don't know which is worse...the 2ww every month and seeing a BFN, or not having anything going on at all?

YES, this exactly!!

I haven't been doing anything to affect ovulation - if I don't get pregnant this month (well, in January), then I am going to start looking into supplements in earnest. I've been doing some reading, so any input is more than welcome.

I am hypothyroid, and take synthroid, which has helped - I wasn't ovulating AT ALL for over a year and didn't realize it. I wasn't temperature charting (just cm, which used to be pretty reliable for me - I guess it's not now though).

My LP is normally 12/13 days, which is good, I think (I've read other numbers are better, but that seems to be the median??), it's just the darn first half that kills me. When I got pregnant with my second, it took 5 weeks to ovulate - but I was still nursing at the time, so I didn't think that was too out of the ordinary.

Adrienne, I haven't heard of maca before - I found this article though. Is this what you're talking about?

Before I got pg with DS, I was seeing an acupuncturist and she helped me get back to normal cycles too! It was fantastic. Unfortunately we have sinced moved and now I don't have an acupuncturist here..but I just wanted to give you some reassurance..this is how I got DS!
