Aetna appeal advice?? Recent studies about homebirth safety?

Has anyone else had success filing an appeal for coverage with Aetna for homebirth? I previously had BCBS and they covered it completely. This time I have to pay 100% because Aetna does not believe homebirth to be a safe practice for the mother or infant. I am going to appeal based on the fact that other providers provide coverage and that homebirth is legal in the state that I live in...not to mention that it will cost them less. Also, has anyone quoted any recent studies (I know there was a recent one) providing evidence for homebirth safety? Thanks for any info!

I've had aetna pay as well, after an appeal and several denials. You don't have to prove it safe, they have to prove it unsafe AND prove that the provider offered is exactly the same as a mw.

I'm working with them again.
