Scary teeth color

I just noticed DD's teeth look a little odd. She's 9 months, these are her top central incisors that are only in for a couple months now. The fronts look fine, totally normal, but the back side (one more than the other) is brownish. At first I thought she had picked up something off the floor and tried to eat it, and ended up with it stuck there. But it looks like it's not removable. It's hard to tell what it is though, I have to hold the flashlight in my mouth, wedge her head between her knees, hold her mouth open with one hand, and use the other one to protect myself from the waving arms. I'll try again when we get home and Daddy can help, but in the meantime, I'm freaked out!
She's been pretty much exclusively BF - won't even take expressed from a bottle. Just a taste of different solid foods, she's only recently started having much interest there. So I thought decay wouldn't be a problem? Is there anything else this could be (I thought maybe dirt - I keep having to take my shoes away from her) or if it's decay am I going to have to take her to the dentist for fillings or something?
Nearly started crying over this, I feel awful if something's wrong even though she doesn't seem to be suffering or anything.

mama. ECC is scary and horrible. I'd get it checked out by a dentist and look at the threads here. There are different ways to go about it, but no matter what it just plain sucks.

Please get her in to a dentist ASAP. My ds3's teeth came in as you described and I asked our ped who said not to worry....months later I could not ignore it anymore. I took him to a dentist and at that point there was a lot of damage and much work to be done. I felt/feel such guilt for not getting this addressed much sooner. I know it sucks but better to take care of it as soon as possible than to wait.
so sorry.
