I take either a prenatal or a children's chewable every day or every other day then floradix iron once or twice a day. When I get into my third trimester I will probably add floradix calcium to the mix. I have cod liver oil to take but just can't stand it!

DHA
D3
Calcium

I try and take a children's chewable (that is high in folic acid), calcium, E or flaxseed oil every day. I may skip once or twice a week.

I was trying to take Floradix iron and red raspberry leaf tea daily, but I've been pretty nauseous, so I've been skipping both.

I'd like to take blue-green algae (cell growth, protein, promotes oxygen) and aloe juice (mostly for digestion), but I just can't stomach anything that unusual right now.

I'd like to get the Floradix calcium if it's as palatable as the iron one. I think the iron is pretty tasty. I was also taking Emergen-C "Bone Health" flavor almost every day and probably will again next time I remember to pick it up at the store. I just like it because it picks up my energy and seems to lessen the day-sickness.

**Oh, I also eat coconut butter a couple times a week and put it on my skin almost every day, probably will be more conscientious about it later on when my belly is growing bigger and faster.

Raw Prenatal
D3
B12
Ocean's Mom (has Omega 3, dha, ara)

I usually also take a cranberry tablet, but am currently OUT.

I think I take more than many but then I am in a northern climate as well, so have less options when it comes to fresh produce and sunlight

Midwife wants me to add EmergenC as well.

pre-natal
folic acid
omega 3
D3
Influenzium d-30 (homeopathic immunization)
b6 (hoping to avoid hyperemesis gravidum this time ) w/ vitamin C
pro-biotic or kefir (HG help)
enzymes (also to help with the HG)
two cups of nettle/RRL/mint tea a day (will increase my nettle intake for iron)

And I need to start with lots of fiber already . Any fun ideas for that???

Doesn't the prenatal cover b-6 and folic acid requirements, along with vit. c and iron? Why would you take additional folic acid and vit. c? I understand the calcium and omegas, but not the others.

Just curious, not critical. I honestly don't know. Is it bad to take additional b-6 and folic acid? I have contemplated doing this for nausea, but I am not sure if it's useful.

Also, why cranberry supplement? I made this yummy grapefruit/cranberry compote thing that I eat over yogurt, and it feels (and tastes) really good going into my body. Is there some special benefit to cranberry?

Also, what is hyperemesis gravidum? It doesn't sound good....

My OB wanted 1000 units of Folic Acid a day. Some prenatals only have 800 in them (which was the old standard number I believe and some women like the smaller number considering folic is in some foods).

Extra Vit C can fight off colds I know, I am sure it is good for other things. http://www.babycenter.com/0_vitamin-...gnancy_660.bcI take extra B12 because I was super cranky at the beginning of this pregnancy and read that B12 can help with mood swings. Also taking too little B12 can lead to problems similiar to low Folic, plus it isn't something that you can overdose on, it just makes urine dark if your body doesn't absorb it all.http://women.emedtv.com/vitamin-b12/...pregnancy.html

I take cranberry tablets because I have a history of urinary tract infections and studies show that the tablets have a slightly higher success rate of preventing than juice does since most cranberry juice has added sugar.http://www.vegetarian-nutrition.info.../cranberry.php

I am sure other people have other reasons or added reasons why they take more of one thing than another. I take TONS of D3- but if I lived in Florida I might not be so inclined...

Hyperemesis Gravidum is severe morning sickness. Can sometimes show up all of a sudden, or can stick around for some time. Can lead to dehydration and put the baby at risk.

Not sure if there is a link between the headaches and calcium, but I have read that calcium and magnesium work together, and that it is imp to avoid calcium carbonate during pregnancy, so be careful about the calcium choices that are out there!
