BF'ing and Ovulation - Silly Question

I've gotten my cycle back, but does that automatically mean that I am ovulating? I know it's a silly question, but I read something on kellymom that made it sound like I can have my cycle return without having my fertility return as long as I am EBF, which I am.

TIA

cycles do not mean you are for sure ovulating, but ovulating means you will have a period.. its really up to you and your body what will happen.. for me, personally, if i have a period it is because i ovulated, i will skip a period if i do not ovulate .. many women will still have a period even if they don't ovulate .. so the only way to know really is to chart to see if you are ovulating.. even then you might have a really short LP (the time between O and your period) if it is too short then you can not stay/get pregnant so you may as well not be fertile.. (this is very common during BFing) but you can't predict when it will be long enough to maintain a pregnancy..

Not a silly Q

I began charting with my first cycle 17 months post-partum in August. Since August I have ovulated only a couple of times. Which is a little frustrating because we are ready to get pregnant again. Charting is really easy and it is great to know if/when you ovulate. I recommend the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Good luck!

I was curious about this too, so thanks for asking.
I'm so confused about what is going on with me. I thought you only staved off the periods if you EBF, and even then it was like 5-7 months before you have a period. I haven't EBF since DS was 2 months old (I do 50/50 BF and formula), and he is 4 months old, but no sign of ol' Aunt Flo. I wish I would have periods now so I can keep track and know when I'm ovulating to avoid getting pregnant (we like natural birth control - or none!). I need the old chart at hand to know when to avoid, but I can't do a chart without a period. So frustrating.
