Lumps on kitty's neck

From time to time our 5 months old kitten gets these lumps around her neck, scratches at them like crazy and she ends up with a wide open wound. I took her to the vet already 5 times for the same problem, everytime the vet gives her antibiotics but it doesn't seem to help because it comes back again after about 3 weeks.
Have anyone seen this before? The vet is saying something like an infection under the skin but I wonder what other options are there other than a trip to the vet every 3 weeks and antibiotics all the time. Those can't be good for the cat all the time, can they?
I am also considering a second opinion from another vet but it will take awhile to locate another english speaking one -- we're in Belgium and I don't speak french well enough for these type of things.
Thanks for any ideas.

My aunt had a cat that had a lump on its neck that ended up being cancer, but the cat was older and had been vaccinated. It also never opened up and oozed so it's probably not cancer in your case.

Are you using any of those collars made for fleas or anything? Could be an allergy?

I would get a second opinion. I hope you figure it out, it sounds painful for the poor kitty.
