Got belly groped today

We were at a holiday party tonight and hubby's cousin made a bee line for me and started groping my baby bump. To be fair, she did ask if she could touch my tummy and I said OK. At first she was softly patting me then as the night went on, and after a few more glasses of wine, she was full on grabbing my tummy. She said she was trying to feel the babies.

I didn't really know what to do. When she first asked if she could touch my tummy, I thought it was nice that she asked but then she got so grabby I wanted to tell her to back the F off. I was finally able to pull away when I told her she was tickling me. I'm surprised she didn't ask to feel my giant boobs too. What a drunk freak!

Wow... I hate people like that...

I would have been speachless! Some people have no concept of personal boundries!

Uggh! It sounds horrible! I'm surprised you didn't just slap her hands away after a while. That is so freaky and rude!

I'm surprised she asked! I hate getting my belly touched by anyone other than DH and people just go in for the rub- I have yet to be asked permission!

That's awful, people are bizarre. I'm sure you are way nicer than I would have been.....LOL.... I really really don't like strangers fondling me, it kind of sets me off...

I'm due in April as well and had a girlfriend accost me at playgroup the other week to feel my belly. She didn't ask, just started (to attempt badly) to palpate my belly. "Oh, I think that's a butt!" I wanted to say, "no dear, I'm only 19 weeks...my uterus isn't that high...I believe that's my liver." But I just let her go on her merry way, because she meant well.

It's annoying as heck, isn't it?

At least we've only got a few more months.

when people ask, i'm going to say, "i have diarrhea"

At least she asked-and drunk people are usually extra touchy-feely. I'm pretty lucky in that I don't get too many unwanted belly grabbers...

Although there is my FIL (who slants toward the creepy with touching anyway), who kept coming up to me and rubbing my belly in a way that serious creeped me out. Mostly, because it was the same way my husband rubs my belly, KWIM? It was just a little too,...intimate? I guess that would be the right word. Ugh. I had my husband make a declaration to the family that I don't want my stomach touched, so that ended that. But seriously,...creep out city!

haha, this is SO not okay! my plan for when/if someone touches the bump without permission is to reach across and rub THEIR stomach....i bet their hand will pull away awfully quickly!

If she had been my cousin I would have felt more comfortable about telling her she was going overboard but she's a cousin-in-law and navigating the whole in law scene is tricky.

I like the diarrhea idea or rubbing their tummy back. I'm definitely doing one of those next time Blair accosts me...yah her name is really Blair.

Sounds good to me!

I cannot STAND it when people touch my belly. Hello!! It's MY body, you do NOT have permission to touch me just because my belly sticks out. Sort of like, you don't have permission to touch my boobs or my butt just because they stick out. I really like the idea of rubbing their belly, I am sure you are right, it would make them back off in a hurry.
