Daughter & I going green with toilet paper.

So dd and I had a discussion about three months ago how toilet paper is made from virgin trees. And the eco friendly paper is very expensive and we go through it too fast. So we decided to give cloth a try and I have to say we love it! We only use it for pee. I bought a cool hanger with 6 hooks on each side so when the 5"x5" squares of fabric get washed, I can hang them to dry. It's really worked well, saved us money and mostly is so much better for the environment. Im very proud of my 12 year old for taking this on.

I bought a metal container at the thrift to put the used ones in. It has a lid and we bought a sweet basket where we roll up the laundered towelettes. I buy used-almost new thin baby blankets, wash them and cut them in to squares.

How intriguing. I have been toying with the idea of doing this since I started using cloth pads. Somehow it just seems so hassley to do even though it isn't when you think about it.

I liked your blog "mlh" and your set up. The round shape cloth is nice. Now we all have to figure out a way to stop peeing in perfectly good drinking water!

Hey, just realized you live in my town! We'll have to meet up sometime. I work the kids booth at the farmers market. Contact me anytime here!
